Hearty Welcome to the portals of LCE!
In the current milieu of rapid changes that is taking place globally, all the activities directed towards education are to be addressed with maximum priority. The Society of Jesus with abundant experience in the field of education and social service has always been focusing its efforts on empowerment of the underprivileged. In this effort, LCE focuses on preparing teachers for 21st century, who could contribute to and manage the needs of the society with equanimity of mind and an attitude of selfless social service especially to the underprivileged.
Teachers are nation builders. They need to cultivate spiritual, moral and social values in children. Teachers’ role as facilitators for social transformation will require to develop in children - nationalism and internationalism; prepare good citizens; foster creativity, self-learning skills and ICT skills and develop high emotional and spiritual quotient. To play this role effectively, LCE ensures to equip the prospective teachers with the apposite knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. It not only focuses on the development of the necessary competencies as a teacher but also imbue in them the urge to be creative and innovative, to have a desire for life-long learning and make a difference by ‘reaching the unreached’.
